Christopher D. “Chris” Shuler Sr., a 57-year-old former Trenton resident, died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015.Christopher D. “Chris” Shuler Sr., a 57-year-old former Trenton resident, died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015.
Mr. Shuler donated his body to Genesis Medical Education and Research Institute.
Memorial services will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 17 2015 at farm of his brother, Timothy Shuler, located off of Highway H and Rural Road 568 A in Winona. Mr. Shuler had lived there for the past five weeks and four days.
Mr. Shuler was born on Feb. 24, 1958 in St Joseph, the son of Alfred D. and Betty Y. Shuler. He was an over-the-road truck driver for ACT and served in the U.S. Army for eight years.
Besides his brother Timothy, he is survived by his mother, Betty Y. Shuler of Winona; five children, Jeannette L. Johnson (her husband, Robert and two granddaughters, Aimee and Grace) of Hamilton GA, Rachael M. Gallahan (her fiancee, Shane Gunn) of Opelika, AL, Christopher D. Shuler Jr. (his wife, Lanea and four grandchildren, Kallie, Briana, Harper and Lucus) of Holly Ridge, NC, Matthew D. Shuler (his wife, Julie) of York, PA and Timothy E. Shuler (his wife, Sara and two grandchildren, Kaydence and Laithon) of Trenton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Ola G. Sr. and Maude M. Shuler; his maternal grandparents, Ernest E. and Opal L. Covey; seven uncles; and eight aunts.
The family requests memorial donations to The American Cancer Society or Riverway Hospice of West Plains.
