The Trenton High School volleyball team just missed a win on Thursday night, taking Kirksville to three games on the road before falling 25-20, 13-25, 20-25.
The Lady Bulldogs came out of the gates with a strong game, holding on to top Kirksville 25-20. The home squad would bounce back quickly, though, taking the second game in relatively easy fashion, winning 25-13. The final game came down to the wire, but Kirksville was able to push past the Lady Bulldogs in the end, taking the decisive game by five points.
“We took Kirksville to three sets but could not capture a win,” Lady Bulldogs’ head Coach Amanda King said. “However, we played very well.”
Individual statistics were not available from the match as of press time.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-9 overall on the season.
Trenton will look to turn the momentum of winning a game into winning a match when the Lady Bulldogs return to the court on Saturday. Trenton travels to the Lathrop Tournament, which begins at 9 a.m.
