The Trenton Heroes will be taking on the Trenton “Celebrities” in a pair of softball games slated for Saturday night on Griffin Field.
The event is a fundraiser to help purchase handicapped accessible playground equipment at Eastside Park. Opening ceremonies are at 5:30 p.m. with former Trenton resident and Kansas City Royals senior advisor to the general manager Mike Arbuckle throwing out the first pitch. He will also be playing in one of the two games along with 26 other “celebrities” representing the area.
In addition to the games, a concession stand will open at 5 p.m., selling nachos and cheese, hot dogs, drinks and Cindy Gott’s famous brownies. There will also be three baskets of homemade items from Sam Day to be auctioned to earn additional funds.
