Funeral services for Larry Dewayne Morris will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be held in the Shelburne Cemetery in the Hickory community.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 o’clock tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015) at the funeral home. General visitation is under way.
Mr. Morris, a 68-year-old resident of Perkasie, PA and formerly of Trenton, died on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Morris was born on Feb. 23, 1947 in Livingston County, the son of Robert and Ruth Clinginsmith Morris. He was a 1965 graduate of Trenton High School. He attended North Central Missouri College, graduating in 1968. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University, graduating in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences. In 1972, he graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a master’s of science degree. In 1983, he graduated from the University of Delaware with a PhD in animal science. He worked as a professor of animal science at Delaware Valley College for 37 years.
He was married on July 16, 1967 in Wheeling to Lucinda Moore, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Barbara Stith and her husband, Larry of Chillicothe, and Kathy Pilcher of Trenton; an uncle, Richard Morris and his wife Sally, of Trenton; his mother-in-law, Jane Moore of Chillicothe; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Baxter and her husband, Danny of Chillicothe and Sue Gates and her husband, Brad of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Pilcher.
