Sep 4, 2015 | Sports & Recreation, Tennis

The Trenton Lady Bulldog tennis team scored its second win in a row on Thursday, pushing its record north of .500 with a 6-3 victory on the road against Cameron.
Trenton saw its top two players fall as Claire Utley was defeated 8-2 and Hannah Farmer lost 8-4, but the Lady Bulldogs bounced back to take the last four singles matches. Lauren Dolan won 9-7 and Codi DeLong picked up an 8-0 victory. Samantha Mihalovich followed with an 8-0 win as well and Madison Searcy took the number-six singles match by forfeit.
Up 4-2, Trenton entered singles play needing just one win to seal the dual. Utley and Dolan fell 8-4, but Farmer and DeLong teamed to take an 8-6 victory to clinch the win. Mihalovich and Searcy won the number-three doubles match by forfeit to give the dual its final score of 6-3.
“The girls are working really well together as a team,” Lady Bulldogs’ Head Coach Bobbie Hainey said. “We were excited to add another win to our record.”
The win pushed Trenton’s overall record on the season to 3-2.
No junior varsity matches were played due to a lack of players by Cameron.
Trenton’s varsity wraps up a busy week today, competing in the Benton Tennis Tournament in St. Joseph.
