THS Alumni Activities Begin On Friday

The 2015 Trenton High School Alumni celebration will be held Sept. 4-6 with a number of activities planned.
Honor classes this year will be the Class of 1990, the 25-year-class, and the Class of 1965, the 50-year-class. In addition, the Class of 1990 is honoring former Trenton R-9 instructors Fred and Sandy Boland.
Events kick off on Friday, Sept. 5 with the North Central Missouri College Golf Tournament, which will be played at the Riverside Country Club. The RCC will also be the site for the all-alumni hospitality mixer, which gets under way at 6 p.m.
The Trenton Elks Lodge will host an all-alumni party, with music and food, beginning at noon. There is no cover charge, however, persons must be over 21 to attend.
Saturday, Sept. 6 features a day and evening full of events, including the alumni and open house from 9 a.m. to noon at Trenton High School. Annual dues of $10 will be collected at that time if not already paid. The all-alumni dance will be held at the Black Silo Winery from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Trenton Elks Lodge is planning an alumni social on Saturday, which gets under way at noon. A DJ will be providing music, beginning at 8 p.m. Again, there is no cover charge but persons must be 21 and over.
NCMC will host an open house on Saturday and tours of the campus, including the Barton Farm campus, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Geyer Hall renovation project will also be a focus during the tour.
Several classes have special events scheduled on that day. Classes that have announced events include:
Class of 1935-43 – Lunch at the First Christian Church at noon.
Class of 1947 – Lunch at the Lakeview Restaurant at noon.
Class of 1948-49 – Breakfast at Selby Hall at 8 a.m.
Class of 1951 – Buffet lunch at 10th Street Baptist Church at 1 p.m., with visiting prior to the meal.
Class of 1952 – Buffet meal at Lakeview Restaurant at noon.
Class of 1953 – Luncheon at Royal Inn Pizza at 11 a.m.
Class of 1954 – Luncheon at Lakeview Restaurant, noon.
Class of 1957 – Dinner at the First Christian Church fellowship hall at 5 p.m.
Class of 1960 – Luncheon at Lakeview Restaurant, noon to 2 p.m.
Class of 1961 – Pizza party at Royal Inn Pizza from 1 to 3 p.m.
Class of 1965 – Social at 5 p.m. and meal to follow in the Sugg Room of the Ketcham Community Center at 6 p.m.
Class of 1970 – Meal at the Wild Onion Cafe at 6 p.m.
Class of 1975 – Gathering at the home of Teresa Steinhoff at 2 p.m. with dinner to be served at 6 p.m.
Class of 1980 – Social at Black Silo Winery from 5 to 7 p.m.
Class of 1985 – Ladies brunch at the home of Sabra Ferguson at 10 a.m. Social at 5:30 p.m. with the meal at 6 p.m. at the annex of Dave’s Body Shop.
Class of 1990 – Picnic at the home of Corie Cutsinger at 11 a.m. Class to host all-alumni dance.
Class of 1995 – Gathering at the home of Ben Thomas.
Class of 2000 – Barbecue at the home of Justin Moore at 5:30 p.m.
Class of 2005 – Gathering at 1312 Lake Manor Drive for potluck dinner at 1 p.m.
Sunday will be the all-alumni brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school. There is a $7 charge for the brunch. The annual meeting of the Foundation Trust of THS will take place at 12:30 p.m., also in the commons.
There will be golf available at the RCC on Friday through Monday. Green fees will need to be paid.
Classes having special events during the weekend are asked to submit information to the Republican-Times for inclusion in a story to appear on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The office will be closed on Monday, however, information can be e-mailed to the newspaper at [email protected] or left in the foyer of the newspaper office.
Classes who have photos taken are asked NOT to wait for the photos before submitting their information. Photos will be published in the newspaper on a space-available basis and may not be able to be included with the class stories.
