Funeral services for Jim Moore will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Pastor Mike Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at the mortuary. Open visitation will begin Wednesday morning.
Mr. Moore, a 77-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 at the Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City.
Mr. Moore was born on Nov. 22, 1939 in Jamesport, the son of Thornton and Mabel Rosenbaum Moore. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1957. He received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri and farmed all of his life south of Trenton.
He was married on Dec. 4, 2010 to Vicki (Kent) Gillenwater.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Trenton.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Vicki Moore of the home; children, Marla Moore of Sedalia, Lisa Bird and her husband, Steve of Otterville, Mindy Ruckman and her husband, Bryan of Sedalia, Rusty Moore and his wife, Misty of Branson, Monte Moore of Branson, and Holly Welsh and her husband, Dan of Kansas City; step-sons, Kent Gillenwater and his wife, Lacy of Mound City and Brady Gillenwater and his wife, Stephanie of Mathews, VA; a sister, Janet England of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
