Viola King, an 88-year-old Trenton resident, died at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
The body was cremated under the direction of Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Minburn, IA.
Mrs. King was born on March 31, 1927 in Minburn, IA, the daughter of Mahlon and Alma Mae Thompson Gottschalk. She graduated from Minburn High School. She was married to Francis Marion “F.M.” King on Nov. 25, 1947. They farmed around the Trenton area and she worked as a cook for Trenton Junior High.
She was a member of the Rural Dale Baptist Church.
Mrs. King is survived by a son, Max King and his partner, Sam Paul of Trenton; a daughter, Maxine Foster and her husband, Garry of Willow Street, PA; two grandsons, Jason King of St. Charles and Thad Foster of Wooster, OH; a granddaughter, Tammy Foster of Cocoa, FL; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Anthony Scott Foster; and a sister, Ruth Goldsberry.
