On June 26, R.L. “Bucky” Moore of Coldwater, KS was honored for 25 years of continuous service in the Midian Shrine Temple, Wichita, KS.
He is a 32nd Degree KCCH Scottish Rite Mason and 32nd Degree York Rite Mason.
Moore was responsible for operating the Shrine Express from Dodge City, KS for five years, transporting children to Wichita for medical service at no expense to the family. He had six Shrine babies in his journey and on his last run, 210 children came up in the engine of the “express” to blow the whistle and ring the bell. He continues to be active in “pony expressing” of children from southwest Kansas to Wichita.
Moore is a former resident of Trenton, where both of his sons, Kary Moore and Kevin Moore, continue to live. He is also the brother of Donald Moore, Dan Moore, Timothy Moore, Judy Rosenboon and Merry Ann Green.
