Mayme Jean Johnson, a 91-year-old Trenton resident, died at 5:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015.
Mrs. Johnson was born on July 23, 1924 near Melbourne, the daughter of Albert Wenten and Rosa Mae Umphfleet Lovell.
She was married in Trenton on Jan. 4, 1943 to Paul Eugene Johnson, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2004. They lived and farmed most of their married lives near Laredo, moving to Trenton in 1998 after retiring. Over the years she also worked as a clerk for IGA Food Store, a secretary for Muff’s Bakery and a cook for Rissler Elementary School.
She was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church and the Laredo Lions Club.
Surviving relatives include her son, Mike Johnson and his wife, Sue of Trenton; a daughter, Pauletta Jean Clubine of Kansas City; a sister, Eulah Mae Clark of Trenton; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bowe and her husband, Lloyd of Chillicothe and Verna Louise Spencer and her husband, Quinten of Eldon; three grandchildren, Larry Clubine and his wife, Barb, Paul Clubine and his wife, Cindy and Bryan Johnson; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Those preceding her in death include her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Kimberly Clubine; five brothers, Don, Chet, Johnny, Sam and Robert Lovell; and a sister, Ruth Lame.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Rural Dale Building Fund and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
