Schuett Wins Gold
Gary Schuett of Trenton won the short hurdles and the 100-meter dash in the 70- to 74-year-old age group at the Show-Me State Games at the University of Missouri’s Audrey Walton Stadium in Columbia on July 24-26.
Schuett broke the meet record in the hurdle event.

Trenton Softball Practice
The Trenton High School softball team will begin practice for the 2015 season on Monday, Aug. 3.
Practice will be held at the Ebbe Sports Complex and runs from 8-10:30 a.m. Girls entering grades 9 to 12 this fall are eligible to play, but must have a completed physical form on file with the THS office to participate.
Trap League Results
The Trenton Summer Trap League wrapped up Thursday night at the trap/skeet range in north Trenton with Farmers Bank winning the team title. Briegel’s A Team placed second with the American Sportsmen in third and the Leftovers rounding out the field.
Individually, Melvin Lee was the top shooter on the final night, hitting 47-of-50 total targets. Wally Parman led the field from the 16-yard line, hitting 24-of-25 targets and Dan Hein led the way from the handicap line after connecting on 23-of-25 targets.
The Trenton Fall Trap League will begin on Thursday, Aug. 13 at the trap/skeet range. Individual shooters and teams are welcome. For more information, or to register a team for the league, persons may contact Dick Thompson at 359-2902.
Grundy R-5 Softball Practice
Practice for the Grundy R-5 boys’ and girls’ high school softball teams will begin on Monday, Aug. 3 at the Galt ballpark. Should there be inclement weather, the practice will be moved to the high school gym.
The first girls practice will begin at 6 p.m. with boys practice following at 7 p.m. All students entering grades 9 to 12 are encouraged to play. Students wishing to play must have a completed physical form and proof of insurance before being allowed to practice.

Trenton Girls Golf Practice
Head Coach Jeremy Austin has announced the Trenton High School girls golf team will hold its first practice of the season on Monday, Aug. 3 at the Riverside Country Club. Practice that day is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Students out for golf must have a completed physical form on file with the THS office to be eligible to participate.
MDC Measuring Antlers At Fair
The Missouri Department of Conservation will be measuring antlers during the North Central Missouri Fair in Trenton on Thursday, July 30. Measuring will take place in the conservation building in the Rock Barn courtyard. The measuring begins at 5 p.m.
Missouri Big Buck, Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett measurers will be on hand to certify trophies. The measuring is open to all antlers, not just trophy bucks.
