Donna Rae Cox, a 75-year-old resident of Grimes, IA and former Mercer County resident, died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Kennybrook Village in Grimes.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Early Cemetery, south of Mercer, with Pastor Ron Helton officiating.
Open visitation and viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA.
Mrs. Cox was born on June 2, 1940 in Princeton, the daughter of Audie and Ola Eldora Hicks Trail. She was raised in Mercer County, where she was a 1958 graduate of Mercer High School. She later continued her education at the Ankeny, IA, College of Nursing, where she graduated and received certification as a licensed practical nurse. She worked as an LPN at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA for several years.
Donna lived her adult life in the Des Moines area, where she attended the Waukee Baptist Church.
She was married in 1958 to Larry Eugene Cox. Their marriage ended in divorce.
She is survived by her two sons, Ron Cox and his wife, Maureen Kennedy of Ankeny and Rick Cox and his wife, Deb Fatino of Indianola, IA; her daughter, Renae Cinnamon and her husband, Glen of Waukee, IA; two grandchildren, Logan and Makenzie Cinnamon; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Max Trail; and by her sister, Colene Ragan.
