The Trenton Insanity 14-and-under softball team finished in third place this past weekend at the Level C National Championship Tournament, which was held in Topeka, KS. The Insanity took on 30 teams at the tournament from eight states including Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Colorado. Also during the tournament were various events such as a catcher competition, base running and bunting contests, a fastest pitch contest and an infield throwing competition. At left is Alexis Whitaker, who finished second in the catcher competition. Whitaker was also awarded the tournament’s Defensive Most Valuable Player Award. She is the daughter of Dr. David and Kari Whitaker of Trenton. The Insanity team is coached by Howie Lynch and David Henderson.
