Mary Frances Hall, a long-time resident of Spickard died on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Saint Luke’s Hospice in Kansas City at the age of 92. Mary had a stroke earlier in the week, the second one in four years, from which could not recover.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Spickard United Methodist Church with Greg Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in Spickard Masonic Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Hall was born in Clarksville, TN on Nov. 24, 1922, the daughter of William and Alma Knight.  During her childhood she lived in Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan and Tennessee.  She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1938.  In 1942 she met and married Arda Hall of Spickard.  They were married 42 years until Arda’s death in 1984.  After Arda’s death, Mary lived independently in Spickard and Bonner Springs, KS until January 2015, when she moved to the Sunnyview Apartments in Trenton.
Mary is survived by two children, Greg Hall and his wife, Cathy of Dallas, TX and Connie Steele of Bonner Springs; four grandchildren, Keith Hall of Dallas, Lisa Costello and her husband, James of Parkville Amy Swartz of Kansas City, KS and Natalie Hess and her husband, Justin of Sturgeon; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Kellene Korody of Spickard.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Arda Hall; a son, William Michael Hall; three brothers, John Knight, James Knight and Charles Knight; and one sister, Ida Jo Killian.
Memorials are suggested to the Spickard United Methodist Church and may be left at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton, which is in charge of arrangements.
