The annual “Celebrity” softball game between local celebrities and the Grundy County Heroes (developmentally disabled individuals of Grundy County) has been set for Saturday, Sept. 12.
The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start at Griffin Field, located at the Ebbe Sports Complex. The concession stand will open at 5 p.m. Dave Burkeybile will again be the announcer for the event.
Several local “celebrities” have already made commitments to play in this year’s game, however, those who have not yet been contacted but would like to play are asked to Contact Brenda Thorne at 654-0218 or Judie Leininger at 351-2195.
Donations from this year’s event will go toward handicapped playground equipment that the park board is planning to install at Eastside Park.
