Jun 25, 2015 | Headline News

Female 4-H and FFA members between the ages of 17 and 21 and who live in north Missouri are eligible to compete in the North Central Missouri Fair Queen Contest.
The contest will be held as part of this year’s NCM Fair, with the winner representing the fair in the 2016 Missouri State Fair Queen Contest.
Applications for the local contest are due by July 10, with actual competition being held on Sunday, July 26 in the Hoover Theater of the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library. Coronation will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 in the courtyard of the Rock Barn on the NCM Fairgrounds.
The Sunday session will include the talent and evening gown competition, open to the public, which account for 40 percent and 20 percent of the total score, respectively. An interview held earlier in the day, which will be done in private by judges, accounts for 40 percent of the score.
The young woman crowned as the NCM Fair Queen will receive a $350 scholarship to North Central Missouri College or $300 to the school of their choice, a tiara, a sash, a bouquet of flowers and the entry fee paid for the state fair queen contest next year. First- and second-runners-up will receive a $100 scholarship to the school of their choice and a bouquet of flowers.
