Deva Hamby, an 89-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 11:57 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2014 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. Burial will follow in the Willis Chapel Cemetery at Brimson.
Mrs. Hamby was born on April 19, 1926 in Trenton, the daughter of Robert and Mable Provorse Bulyar. She graduated from Trenton High School with the class of 1943 and then moved to Kansas City where she worked for Montgomery Ward.
She was married in 1948 to Max Hamby in Clinton, AR and they moved to the Brimson community. They farmed all of their married lives. She was a hard worker, raising and providing for her family by gardening, canning and churning butter.
Mrs. Hamby is survived by her daughter, Janet Brown and her husband, Darrell of Trenton; four grandchildren Drake Brown of Trenton, Jake Brown of Trenton, Natalie Kilman and Brandon Hamby of Dunbar, WV; and five great-grandchildren, Corda and Emma Brown, Lauren Fastenau, McKenzie Kilman and Mya Rose Kilman.
Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband; a son, Rex Hamby; a brother, Robert Bulyar; and an infant daughter, Cheryl Rose Hamby.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Willis Chapel Cemetery and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
