Princeton Council Appoints New Member

The Princeton City Council met on Thursday, June 4, appointing a new councilman and approving a service contract.
City Clerk Danette Snapp reported that former mayor Mike Greenlee was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Dee Hobbs as north ward alderman. Hobbs is moving from the city. Greenlee would serve until Hobbs’ term is up in April 2017.
Approval was given to a bid from Microcom to upgrade the city’s SCADA system. A service contract was approved for the Princeton Chamber of Commerce to provide $250 for musical entertainment during the July 4 celebration.
The council approved fireworks stand permits for Jeff Power and Bill Houck. Liquor licenses were renewed for Snappy’s, Crossroads, Casey’s, Dollar General, Jeff’s Place and Chiefs.
The council approved a request from the library for a free swim day on July 24 for participants in the summer reading program. Also approved was a building permit for Corey Teeter to construct an addition on the west side of the Cow Palace.
The next council meeting at Princeton was set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7.
