Bluegrass Event Planned

The Dough Boys Bluegrass Pickers, featuring several area residents, will perform a free concert from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 at the Silvermoon Plaza in Chillicothe.
The performance will be followed by an open jam session for any acoustic players who want to join in. The event is sponsored by the Chillicothe Area Arts Council.
The Dough Boys Pickers include Jack and Marilyn Bain of Trenton, Frosty Garr of Chillicothe, Jamie Reeter of Poosey, Jay Shirley of Laredo, Brandon Spencer of Spickard and Mary Lou VanDeventer of Chillicothe.
The Dough Boys are the hometown bluegrass band for the Sliced Bread Jam Bluegrass Festival held each Father’s Day weekend at the Litton Agri Center in Chillicothe. That event is also presented by the Chillicothe Area Arts Council.
This year’s festival will feature bands on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20 from 1 to 10 p.m. Among the bands performing are The Box Cars from Nashville and The Petersen Family Bluegrass Band from Branson along with other great regional bands.
