Area residents looking for a chance to volunteer and share in fresh produce will have the opportunity to do so this summer at the The Garden.
The Garden, formerly known as the Community Garden, is located at the corner of 18th Street and Harris Avenue, behind the food pantry. Volunteers are needed from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 7 to 10 a.m on Saturdays. No gardening experience is necessary and even those who are not able to physically help in the garden are needed. In addition, those who just want some fresh veggies may stop by during regular hours and leave a donation in exchange for a bag.
