A summer reading series will begin on May 27 in the Republican-Times. Students and adults will both be able to read along each week as they travel to destinations across the state in Missouri Road Trip 2015: Every Hero Has A Story, a Newspaper In Education series to learn about Missourians and the places they called home.
Persons can read about people like Walt Disney, who found his imagination in Marceline; Marie Watkins Oliver, “the Betsy Ross of Missouri;” and Susan Elizabeth Blow, a St. Louisan who brought kindergarten home from Germany.
Families who read the features together will be eligible to win weekly prizes – $50 gas cards – to help take a Missouri road trip. Persons can share destination photos to become a Fan of the Week and enter to win a Summer Finale Prize – a road trip across Missouri Highway 36, The Way of American Genius!
