Holly Cox of Hangar Clinic in Trenton presented the program at Thursday’s meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club. Mary Easter was the program chairman.
Mrs. Cox, who has been with Hangar Clinic for eight years, recently became certified as a mastectomy fitter in addition to her other prothesis certifications. Mrs. Cox works with women who have suffered from breast cancer and are in need of certain services following various types of surgery. Phone calls to the clinic indicated there was a need for such services locally, which resulted in Mrs. Cox obtaining her certification. She had to undergo 500 hours of training and classes to earn her certification and she is currently working with 25 patients who would have been required to drive long distances to get these services.
During the business meeting, members were reminded of the One Rotarian Every Year program in which all members are encouraged to donate $100 per year to the Rotary Foundation to help fund various projects. Volunteers to help at the Grundy County Museum during the summer are still being sought as well.
Next week’s program chairman is Kristi Urich with the program being presented by the Missouri Star Quilt Co.
