Pauline P. Mayo, an 81-year-old resident of St. Joseph and former Trenton resident, died on Tuesday morning, May 5, 2015 at Riverside Place in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Mark Mayo officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mayo was born on Aug. 9, 1933 in Spickard, the daughter of Dewey R. and Jessie M. Ireland Browning. She attended Spickard Grade School, graduated from Trenton High School in 1951 and also attended Trenton Junior College. She was a licensed cosmetologist and bank teller before retiring.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton.
She was married in Trenton on Aug. 8, 1954 to John W. Mayo, who preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2014.
She is survived by one son, Mark Mayo, and his wife, Joyce of St. Joseph; three grandchildren, Philip Mayo, Mary Mayo and Hannah Krauskopf and her husband, Kevin all of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren, Elias Krauskopf and Jane Krauskopf both of Chicago, IL; one brother, Richard Browning and his wife, Earlene of Brookfield; one sister-in-law, Marie Browning of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, John Edwin Mayo; her parents; one brother, Judson Browning; one sister, Lilly Rosson; one brother-in-law, Charles Rosson; and one half-brother, C. J. Browning.
The family suggests memorials be made to CMA USA or the National Alzheimers Association.
