This year’s Brown-Pushkarsky Award winner, selected by members of the student body, was Quentin Albrecht, history instructor. The Brown-Pushkarsky Award, named in honor of NCMC Professors Emeritus Tom Brown and Louis Pushkarsky, recognizes an instructor who best exemplifies their dedication to teaching. Louis Pushkarsky passed away in March 2012.
The Allnutt Award was presented to Sarah Williamson, Financial Aid Cashier. This award is designated for a staff member who has provided exemplary service to students; it is also chosen by the student body.
Named by NCMC President Neil Nuttall as the recipient of the Top Sail Award was Marcie Cutsinger, TRIO Director. Faculty member Sue Nichols was announced as this year’s NISOD award winner.
Also recognized were those employees who earned advanced education degrees, and retirees Judy Kidd and Vicki Weaver.
Twenty-four members of the NCMC family were recognized with years of service awards. They were Linda Brown (30 years); Alan Barnett and Missie Cotton (20 years); John Campbell, Cory Cooksey, Scott Keith, Michael O’Neal, Steve Richman and Dennis Sager (15 years); Anthony Alexander, Gary Boyle and Dr. Neil Nuttall (10 years); and Whitney Bingham, Michael Dennis, Megan DeWitt, Denise Guile, Jeff Hale, Rustin Jumps, Tara Noah, Sharalyn Robinson, Stacy Russell, Jenna Vandel, Tracy Welch and Lenny White (five years).
