Apr 23, 2015 | Headline News

The Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Group and the First Baptist Church Crafty Ladies combined efforts on Monday afternoon to hand-make fleece blankets for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Wright Memorial Hospital. Nearly 30 blankets were made to care for patients that are in need of some extra comfort. A Bible verse was attached to each blanket to also comfort the patient. The WMH Auxiliary is an active volunteer organization within Wright Memorial Hospital. Greeting patients in the main lobby, outpatient specialty clinic registration, and rehab services and gift shop management are among the duties. Those interested in volunteering need to call 660-358-5706. The FBC Crafty Ladies is a local group that meets at the First Baptist Church every Monday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. This group works on all kinds of crafts and often times do projects and donate items to community service organizations and mission efforts. Those interested in joining the club can call Marilyn Bain at 359-2456.
