TMS Track Teams In Brookfield Middle School Relays

The Trenton Middle School track and field teams were in action in Brookfield on Monday, competing in the Brookfield Middle School Relays.
The Trenton boys earned first place honors in the relays, edging Marceline by six points. The Trenton girls finished fourth among 11 teams competing.
Bulldogs
Jadan Whitney led the way for the TMS boys, picking up first-place wins in the shot put and discus. Hunter Beverlin finished second behind Whitney in the discus.
Also finishing second was Matthew Sibbit in the triple jump, Carson Radcliff in the long jump and the 4×200-meter relay team of Quinten Hughs, Jeremy Elliott, Nick Shields and Isaac Harris. Taking third place were Zane Rottman in the 1600-meter run, Hunter Trask in the shot put and Isaac Harris in the pole vault.
“I am proud of how our boys competed,” Coach Brandon Boswell said. “It was cold and windy, but our kids did everything we asked of them and performed to the best of their abilities.”
Lady Bulldogs
Salem Croy earned a first-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 33-02 while the 4×400-meter relay team of McKayla Blackburn, Sydney Lynch, Karli Provorse and Lexi Whitaker also placed first with a time of 4:47. Croy was also second in the discus with a throw of 60-05.
Earning third-place finishes were Ainsley Tolson in the triple jump, 28-02; the 4×100-meter relay team of Tolson, Croy, Kennedy Norton and Lexi Whitaker, 58.56; and the 4×200-meter relay team of Blackburn, Norton, Mykah Hurley and Shawna Coplen, 2:05.
Finishing in fourth were Sydney Lynch in the long jump, 12-09; and Allena Allen in the 800-meter run, 3:01.
“The girls competed well,” Coach Jon Guthrie said. “They finished fourth overall in the track meet out of 11 teams. They are showing a lot of toughness. A lot of girls are battling some aches and pains that come this part of the track season and are working hard. I’m proud of their effort. “
The TMS teams host the TMS Relays today at C.F. Russell Stadium.
