Northwest Missouri State University’s Celebration show choir will present its annual spring show at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
The spring show, “Jukeboxes, Wild Parties and More,” will feature a broad variety of music, including songs from “Evita,” “Spamalot,” “The Secret Garden,” “Miss Saigon,” “Candide” and “The Addams Family.” The audience also will hear songs made famous by Michael Buble, Josh Groban and recent songs by Jason Robert Brown.
Celebration is a group of 34 performers who sing and dance and are accompanied by an eight-piece band. In addition to full company numbers, performers will be featured in solos and ensembles, spanning a variety of songs.
Isaiah Swann of Trenton, a 2014 graduate of Trenton High School, is a member of the Celebration choir as well as the Tower choir and University chorale.
Admission to the show is free, and it is open to the public.
Celebration represent a variety of majors across the university and the choir has performed throughout the United States. During the fall trimester, they are known as The Madraliers, a chamber choir that presents concerts on and off campus, including the annual Yuletide Feaste. Dr. Brian Lanier, associate professor of music, directs the choir.
