The Grundy R-5 track and field teams were in Ludlow for the Ludlow Relays Wednesday. Matana Munday led the varsity girls, which placed eighth as a team, with a first-place finish in the shot put and a second-place showing in the discus.
Mckenna Owens ran third in the 400-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter dash and Zoe Littleton was third in the high jump.
For the Grundy boys, who placed seventh as a team, Thomas Dalton took fourth in the 200-meter dash and combined with Alex Webb, Tyler Stiles and Isaac Chamberlin to take fourth in the 4×400-meter relay.
Other Grundy highlights saw Jandie Peterson win the junior high girls’ long jump and Aubrey Gann placed second in the junior high girls’ 800-meter run.
