The Marshall Philharmonic will close its 52nd season on Sunday, featuring some of Marshall’s most promising young talent.
Soloist for the day will be Marshall High School graduate Richard Marshall, on trombone. The Marshall High School Orchestra will perform as special guests.
Richard Marshall was born and raised in Marshall. He is the son of retired Marshall music teacher, Mary Marshall, and the late Tom Marshall, a former area state representative. Richard is currently pursuing a Performer’s Diploma at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.
The Marshall High School Orchestra accumulated recent state honors by receiving a I rating at the State Music Festival in Boonville. This marks the 14th consecutive year the orchestra has earned a I rating at the state event.
Sunday’s concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Harold L. Lickey Auditorium of Bueker Middle School. As always, concerts are free to the public with a reception immediately following.
Buddy Hannaford of Trenton is a charter member in the horn section.
