The Trenton High School boys’ junior varsity track and field team traveled to Lawson on Monday for the Lawson Junior Varsity Quad. Trenton won three events at the meet, all of which were relay races.
Trenton’s sprint relay team of Jeffrey White, Chase Marsh, Colton Colston and Winston Mackey won the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 49.59 and won the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:43.59. Trenton’s other gold medal at the meet came in the 4×800-meter relay where Cade Darting, Brenden Johnson, Alex Parrack and Zac Smith combined to place first with a time of 10:35.75.
In the 4×400-meter relay, Trenton was third as Smith, Colton Allen, Eric Lovett and Spencer Harris crossed the line with a time of 4:26.20.
Individually, Avery Cooksey was second in the high jump with a mark of 5-4.75 and third in the triple jump with a jump of 34-7, Cole Schilling was second in the discus with a throw of 110-7 and took sixth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:50.10, Marsh was third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 20.69 and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.45, Colston was third in the high jump with a mark of 5-4.5, Trey Shaw was fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16-6, White was fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 34-6 and eighth in the long jump with a mark of 16-2, Mackey was fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.0 and sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.27, Smith was third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.13, Lovett was fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38.99, Parrack was seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:48.31, Harris was seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.95 and Denver Bennett was eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 3:01.17.
No team standings were kept at the event and Trenton did not have a girls’ team in action.
Trenton returns to varsity track and field action today, traveling to the Brookfield Quad, which is scheduled to begin at 4 o’clock.
