Four Trenton High School students have been named as Students of the Quarter for the third quarter.
Receiving the honor, which is based on citizenship, leadership, participation and academics, are freshman Anna Shackelford, sophomore Katerina Black, junior Eli Leininger and senior Sheridan Jamvold. The students were selected by faculty and may receive the honor only once in their high school career.
Miss Shackelford is the daughter of Jessica Shackelford and Jason Shackelford. She is a member of the THS Key Club and was recently elected Division 1 Lieutenant Governor in the Missouri-Arkansas Key Club District. In addition, she has competed in the 2014 Congressional Art Competition and plays on the high school volleyball team.
Miss Black is the daughter of Kelli Griffith and David Black. At THS, she is a member of the softball and basketball teams. She serves as junior treasurer in FFA and won first place in the district Division II Public Speaking Contest. She will attend the State FFA Convention, competing in this area. She also won second at district for horse judging. Outside of THS, she is a member of 4-H and Girl Scouts and attends the First Christian Church. She also plays on a traveling softball team.
Leininger is the son of Shawn and Cara Leininger. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has been named to the honor roll. Outside of school, he is employed at Hy-Vee and has his private pilot’s license. He is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Miss Jamvold is the daughter of Mike and Raynea Jamvold. At THS, she is a football and basketball cheerleader, a member of FCA and National Honor Society and plays on the golf team. In addition, she serves as Key Club president and FBLA vice-president. Outside of school, she is a dance instructor at L.A.P.D. and attends the Hodge Presbyterian Church and youth group.
