Funeral services for Jack Lee Thieme, a 74-year-old resident of Humphreys, were held at 1 p.m. today (Monday, March 23, 2015) at the Mt. Zion Christan Church in Humphreys. Burial was in the Haseville Cemetery.
Mr. Thieme died on Friday, March 20, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Thieme was born on Dec. 11, 1940 in Chula, the the son of Norman and Dorothy White Thieme. He was a 1959 graduate of Chillicothe High School. After graduating high school he attended the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He was married on Feb. 17, 1962 in Humphreys to Donna Mae Triplett, who survives of the home. He worked in construction for Irvinbilt General Contracting for 42 years and also worked as a farmer.
Mr. Thieme was a member of the Chula Presbyterian Church and attended the Mt. Zion Christian Church. He was a member of the Linn County Soil and Water Board, Missouri Beekeepers Association, and the Angus Association. He enjoyed fishing, working his black cattle, gardening and giving away his food from the garden.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lori Shiflett and her husband James of Meadville; two sons Richard “Rich” Thieme and his wife, Jeannie of Chillicothe and Lin Thieme and his wife, Ashley of Meadville; two brothers, John Thieme and his wife, Pam of Chillicothe and Jim Thieme and his wife, Stephanie of Chillicothe; one sister, Kay Trevorrow of Anaheim, CA; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Art Trevorrow.
