Doyle Eugene Barton, a 79-year-old resident of Raytown and formerly of Harris and Princeton, died on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Hidden Lake in Raytown.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Harris Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 10 until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
Mr. Barton was born on Nov. 22, 1935 in Harris, the son of Platte Barton and Ruby Jewell McClaughlin Barton. He attended Harris schools.
He was married at Spickard on May 1, 1956 to Peggy Louise Sparks, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2004.
He was a diesel mechanic and worked for many years at Central States Trucking. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Edward (Lisa) Barton of Lexington, SC; daughters, Kimberly (Robert) Martin of Lexington and Vicky (David) Young of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George (Wilma) Barton of Independence and James (Joan) Barton of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Carroll Barton.
Memorials in honor of Doyle Barton may be made to the Harris Cemetery and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
