Todd F. Chumbley, a 72-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Thursday morning March 12, 2015 at his home.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Kevin Drew officiating. The body will be cremated after the mass.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Chumbley was born on Oct. 15, 1942 in McCloud, CA, the son of Franklin Eugene “Gene” and Norma Jane “Peggy” Cox Chumbley. He graduated from Trenton High School and attended Trenton Junior College. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad, then was employed as manager of Princeton Manor, Trenton Heights and Copeland Heights Apartments, all of Trenton, before retiring.
He played in several local country bands including Teener’s. He also was a ham radio operator.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Grand River Lodge No. 52, IOOF, both of Trenton.
He was married on July 29, 1988 in Trenton to Doris L. Lewandowski.
His survivors include his wife, Doris of the home; two sons, Bryan Chumbley and his wife, Julia of Eudora, KS and Brad Chumbley and his wife, Patricia of Trenton; his mother, Peggy Chumbley of Mesa, AZ; one step-daughter, Kathryn McElroy and her husband, Bobby of Pea Ridge, AR; one step-son, Larry Chambers and his wife, Carla of Trenton; three sisters, Patricia Nesbitt of Mesa, Lori Jarrett of Mesa and Cindy James of Poway, CA; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials are suggested to the Trenton IOOF Cemetery and may be left at funeral home.
