Pleasant View Splits With Spickard

The Pleasant View fifth and sixth grade basketball teams kicked off their 2015 season on Tuesday night, taking on Spickard in a girls’-boys’ doubleheader. The night was a split for the two schools as Spickard took the girls’ game 30-4 and Pleasant View won the boys’ game 51-21.
In girls action, Spickard was paced by Paige Miller and Tiffany Ward, both of whom scored 12 points. Kasey Barnes and Kyla Coffman added four and two points respectively. Pleasant View got two points each from Teya Cooksey and Megan Spencer. Boys’ action saw the Blue Jays led by Chase Otto, who had 30 points in the win. Tucker Otto added 13 points, Warren Meservey added six and Mason Meservey rounded out the team’s total with two. Spickard, meanwhile, was led by Steven Archuleta who had nine points. Austin Brown and Nick Roberts had six points each for Spickard.
