Jason Pipes, an apprentice lineman for Grundy Electric Cooperative at Trenton, attended the AMEC meter school at the AMEC Training Center in Jefferson City on Jan. 14-16.
Participants received classroom and hands-on instruction centering on single-phase and three-phase metering applications with a focus on safety, troubleshooting, use of CT’s and PT’s for three-phase metering applications and general detection of electricity theft. Representatives from cooperatives in Mattoon, IL, Lebanon, MO and Fulton served as instructors for the school.
