Princeton Chamber Holds Meeting

The Princeton Chamber recently met at the Mercer County Senior Center with five members and one guest present.
Kelly Bertrand presided at the meeting. Letters were sent for chamber memberships for 2015. Membership to the chamber is $75 and friend of the chamber membership is $25.
The annual soup and dessert cook-off will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 at the Hal England Center. The contest is open to all. Persons may bring any kind of soup and/or dessert. Prizes for soup and dessert will $25, $15 and $10 each. Entertainment will be provided by Felicia Bertrand Karla Meinke and the duo, Opal’s Gang.
The Big Bang Bicycle Ride Across Missouri will be in Princeton from noon to 3 p.m. on June 24. Discussion was made as to where to have the riders stop. The city will close the square area for the three hours and vendors will be available to sell food. Over 500 riders are signed up now and around 1,000 riders will participate along with their support teams. Big Bang is providing a band that day on the bandstand.
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be honored during the Calamity Jane celebration. Moss Rangers will do the baby show. Murphy Brown will do the parade and provide the announcer. One-half of the cost of the Kids Pedal Pull has been paid.
Bids are being accepted to repair the Cow Palace. Persons can contact Donna Herdrich or Kelly Bertrand for more information or to see the property.
The Independence Day celebration will be on July 4 at the school. Glenn Kirby will do the fireworks. The event will be held in conjunction with the Stacy Center supper and the All-School Reunion. There will be food, entertainment, fun and fireworks.
The next meeting will be on March 11 at Pearl’s II Eden for Elders.
