The Financial Aid Office at North Central Missouri College in Trenton will take part in FAFSA Frenzy, a nationwide event designed to help college students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), on March 3 and 4. The FAFSA is the first step in applying for federal financial aid and state aid programs.
The event will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4 in the Alexander Student Center on the NCMC campus. All students are encouraged to participate regardless of which Missouri college they plan to attend.
Students and their families attending the FAFSA Frenzy will learn valuable information about financial aid and be able to complete their 2015–16 FAFSA online with the help of NCMC’s financial aid professionals. The state of Missouri will randomly award several scholarships to participants statewide; winners of the scholarship drawing will receive their scholarships upon enrollment documentation for the 2015 fall term in a Missouri postsecondary program. During the 2011–12 academic year, Missouri postsecondary students received $2.5 billion in federal financial aid and nearly $1.2 billion in additional financial aid from other sources (for example, postsecondary institutions and the state of Missouri). Students are required to complete the FAFSA each year in order to qualify for any federal or state aid. Ashlea Buntin, Associate Director of Financial Aid, can be contacted for more information at 660-359-3948 ext. 1417 or [email protected].
