Rotary Hears About Patient Portal

Jan 30, 2015 | Clubs & Organizations, Meetings

The patient portal at Wright Memorial Hospital was the topic of a program at Thursday’s meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club. Matt Osterthun was the program chairman.
Dr. Esgar Guarin and nurse manager for the physicians clinic, Karen Isaacs, presented the program about the new system that allows patients who have been treated by the Saint Luke’s Health System (of which WMH is a part) to access their medical information from wherever they may be. In addition, patients can schedule appointments, communicate with a doctor or nurse and get lab results. Dr. Guarin said the system is designed to make health care better and more efficient, allowing patients to have better access to their medical information and being able to better track what is going on with their health situation. In addition, the system has an e-mail notification device that will give health care providers another way to communicate with patients in regard to their health care. Dr. Guarin emphasized that the system is set up for those who use the Saint Luke’s Health System only, however, patients can make a request that their records from another source be sent for inclusion in the system.
Persons wanting to sign up for the system may go online to relayhealth.com or contact their physician and give the staff their e-mail address.
Next week’s program chairman is Debbie Carman.
