Arts Program At Chillicothe

The Chillicothe Area Arts Council is bringing Pokey LaFarge and His Band to the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Feb. 8.
LaFarge & His Band specialize in a variety of musical styles including western swing, country blues, string ragtime and early jazz. He has performed on the “David Letterman Show” and “The Late Late Show” on Ireland’s RTE One Network. The band has also performed multiple times with Garrison Keillor, the popular host of NPR’s “Prairie Home Companion,” including a live performance with Keillor in St. Louis and numerous times on RFD TV’s Marty Stuart Show. LaFarge has released a number of records from 2007 to 2013. The records “Riverboat Soul” and “Middle of Everywhere” have won the Independent Music Award for Best Americana Album.
Last year, LaFarge signed with Rounder Records, which has an All-Star roster of well-known performers under contract, including Willie Nelson, Robert Plant, Allison Krauss, Dr. John and many more talented musicians.
