Nine Teams Headed To State FCCLA STAR Events Competition

Seven middle school and two high school FCCLA teams have advanced to state competition in STAR Events following the Region 2 contest held on Monday in Chillicothe.
All nine teams received a gold rating and will now take part in the State Leadership Conference STAR Event competitions on March 22-24 in Columbia. In all, Trenton had 10 teams earn a gold rating along with two teams earning a silver rating.
Middle school teams earning a gold and advancing to state included:
Chapter Service Project, Display – Libby Fewins, Rillie Ratliff and Tiffany Gilbertson.
Chapter Service Project, Portfolio – Haley Kidd and Kendall Crowley.
Chapter in Review Portfolio – Kaylie Crawford and Emma Rorebeck.
Environmental Ambassador – McKenna Cox, Halley Windsor and Shawna Coplen.
Focus on Children – Werthen Gass.
Food Innovations - Ainsley Tolson, Maycie Mayfield and Saedee Jackson.
Promote and Publicize – Taylor Richman and Sidney Lynch.
High school teams earning a gold and headed to state competition include:
Interior Design - Hannah Robinson and Hannah Sowder.
FCCLA Knowledge -Mason Hooyman.
Other middle school teams and their ratings included:
Recycle and Redesign – Grace Eaton, Gold.
National Programs in Action – Oakley Madden, McKayla Blackburn and Allena Allen, silver.
Interpersonal Communication – Mykah Hurley, silver.
Four Trenton students were also selected as Region 2 officers for the 2015-16 school year. They include Kaylee Griffin, first vice president; Mason Hooyman, second vice president; Werthen Gass, recreation leader; and Maycie Mayfield, Historian.
