Police Plan Self-Defense Class For Women

Jan 20, 2015 | Headline News

The Trenton Police Department, in partnership with the Trenton Chamber of Commerce, Damsel in Defense and Scientific Fighting, will be holding women’s self-defense and survival awareness classes.
The program will be held on Saturday, March 14 in the Trenton High School wrestling room. The cost will be $25 per person, including lunch. The class is limited to the first 40 paid participants and is for women ages 15 to 99.
“The class is intended to increase situational safety and awareness for women, provide them with hands on instruction on how to defend themselves in the event of an attack and to display available self defense products for women,” Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright said.
The program will be similar to one conducted by the police department in 2013.
Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22 and may be purchased at the Trenton Police Department or the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce. All checks should be made out to the Trenton Police Department.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Chief Wright at 660-359-5557 or via his email at [email protected]. Persons may also contact Debbie Carmen of the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce at 660-359-4324 or her email at [email protected].
