The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education met for the regular monthly meeting at the school on Tuesday to discuss various items.
The board approved a field trip for the fifth and sixth grade to the annual Water Festival sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension on April 9 at NCMC’s Barton Campus. Each board member was recognized with a certificate for their service to the district and students of Pleasant View. Board member recognition week is Jan. 25-31, 2015. The Dec. 1 child count for special education has been finalized with an overall increase from last school year of six PK-8 students in the special education program.
Jeff Berti and Amy Harris, both incumbents, are currently the only two filing so far for the upcoming school board election on April 7. Filing can be done at the school office until Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Monday, Jan. 19 will serve as a make-up day for the Pleasant View R-6 School District for classes missed on Dec. 18. The Grundy County Spelling Bee will be held in the Pleasant View gymnasium on Tuesday, Feb. 3, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The fifth and sixth grade basketball season has been finalized with the first ballgame to be held at Spickard school on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.
The next regular board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
