Jack Wyatt, an 81-year-old resident of Oak Grove, died at 12:53 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.
Mr. Wyatt was born on Sept. 12, 1933 in Kirksville, the son of Jean and Mary Nichols Wyatt. He attended and graduated from Princeton High School. After graduation he served in the Army during the Korean War. After the Army he moved to the Kansas City area, where he worked for the railroad for 10 years. He drove a delivery truck and had his own power washing business before retirement. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, attending BMW motorcycle rallies, baseball, football, auto racing and wrestling. He was very talented with mechanics and helped his brother in his small engine repair shop after he retired.
Survivors include his children, Penny Malley of Portage, MI, Gregg Wyatt of McKinney, TX and Tammy Whisman of Portage, MI; grandchildren, Luke Parrott of Middletown, IA, Jamie Parrott and Jackie Parrott of Portage, MI, Kevin Wyatt and Kelby Wyatt of Trenton, Wyatt Whisman and Taylor Whisman of Portage, MI; and nephews, Gary Wyatt and Ryan Wyatt of Independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Keith Wyatt.
