Council Races In Three City Wards

There will now be races for three seats on the Trenton City Council with the filing on Thursday of first ward councilman Mark Moore.
Moore, who resides at 904 E. Third St., will face Vern Johnson in the April 7 city election. There are also races in the second ward between Larry Porter and Matthew Walker and in the fourth ward between Jim Bush and Jennifer Hottes Urich. Travis Elbert of 1908 Princeton Road has also filed for re-election in the third ward and is unopposed at this time.
In the mayor’s race, current mayor Dr. Nick McHargue is facing a challenge from current second ward councilman Mark Robinson.
Persons wanting to file for the city council have until Tuesday, Jan. 20 to do so at Trenton City Hall.
