The second ward of the Trenton City Council now has two candidates with the filing on Tuesday of Matthew D. Walker of 1020 Laclede St.
Walker will face Larry Porter in the April 7 city election. There is one other race on the city ballot so far, that being for mayor. Incumbent Dr. Nick McHargue will be facing current second ward councilman Mark Robinson. Fourth ward councilman Jim Bush is the only other incumbent to file for re-election. Others with terms expiring are first ward councilman Mark Moore and third ward councilman Travis Elbert.
Persons wanting to run for council may do so by filing at city hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The last day to file is Tuesday, Jan. 20.
