Children and families enrolled in Trenton Head Start recently participated in a food drive, with non-perishable items to be donated to the local food pantry. The Head Start parent group, with the assistance of staff members, planned the community project in celebration of Head Start’s 50-year birthday. Conceived in 1964 as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty, Head Start has continues to provide comprehensive early education services to area children and families. North Central Missouri College sponsors Green Hills Head Start in Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Putnam and Sullivan counties.
