The Tri-County High School basketball teams were handed a pair of road losses on Tuesday night in Pattonsburg. The Lady Mustangs fell 71-13 and the Mustangs lost 70-41.
Leading the way for the Lady Mustangs were Katana Almond and Lilly Simons, each of whom had three points. For the Tri-County boys, Dillon Cook led the way with 31 points, eight rebounds and six steals. Cook also hit 14-of-18 free-throw attempts. Derek Swymeler had seven points and five rebounds while Jonathon Swymeler pulled down 10 boards.
The Lady Mustangs (0-6) and the Mustangs (2-4) return to action next week in the HDC Conference Tournament. Brackets for the tournament can be found on page 3 of today’s Republican-Times.
