The Newtown-Harris basketball teams were handed home HDC Conference losses on Wednesday night as the Lady Tigers and Tigers fell to North Harrison. The Newtown girls were downed 54-25 and the boys fell 62-23.
Leading the way for the Lady Tigers (2-3) were Abby Wells and Madison Gibson, both of whom had eight points in the loss. The Newtown boys (0-5) were paced by 13 points from Blake Foster.
Both Newtown squads will be in action next week in the HDC Conference Tournament. Brackets for the tournament can be found on page 3 of today’s Republican-Times.
