The Princeton City Council met on Monday night, swearing in a new member and setting the filing dates for the April election.
According to City Clerk Keri Stamper, Clint Vanderpool was sworn in to fill the unexpired position on the council in the south ward. He will serve until the April election.
The filing dates for the April election will be from Dec. 16 to Jan. 20. The two-year terms of Dee Hobbs in the north ward and Dee Kinney in the south ward will be expiring. The one-year unexpired term in the south ward will also be on the ballot. Interested persons can file for the council at city hall during regular business hours.
The council approved a service contract with the Princeton Chamber of Commerce for $200, which will be used for the Princeton High School Band and Choir to perform at the downtown Christmas event on Saturday.
The next city council meeting will be on Monday, Jan. 5.
